RICHMOND, VA - The Richmond Kickers, in partnership with the Carytown Merchants Association, are pleased to host the first annual I Heart Carytown Craft Beer Festival, presented by Bon Secours Sports Medicine, at City Stadium on Saturday, April 9.
Celebrating RVA's most iconic shopping district, the party starts at 3:00 p.m. with live music by Hollywood Cemetery, a mini-Carytown marketplace featuring locally-owned restaurants, food trucks and handcrafted items from Carytown boutiques, 20+ craft beers on tap and the Kickers pro game versus Rochester at 5:00 p.m., to showcase why Carytown is the best place to Eat, Shop and Play.
"For the Carytown Merchants Association, partnering with the Richmond Kickers is a natural fit," commented Camille Bird, President 2015-16 Carytown Merchants Association. "This partnership bolsters the Association's commitment to the entire community of Carytown and supports our mission to create awareness of Carytown's culture and facilitate support for the organizations, large and small, within. Carytown...eat, shop and play (soccer)! Go Kickers!"
City Stadium, located just blocks from Carytown, offers ample free parking and a convenient stop for the RVA Trolley that will be operating a continuously running, free hop-on-hop-off trolley loop from City Stadium to Carytown from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to stroll through the unique shopping neighborhood prior to the Kickers game and to keep the party going after the match at the official post-game party spot, Garden Grove Brewing Company (3445 W Cary Street). Additionally, Spoken4 pedicabs will offer free rides to and from City Stadium and Carytown that evening.
"Having called historic City Stadium home for over 20 years, the Richmond Kickers are proud to partner with our neighbors in Carytown to offer the ideal venue to host the first annual I Heart Carytown Craft Beer Festival," commented Shelley Sowers, Richmond Kickers General Manager. "We are thrilled to be able combine a one-of-a-kind experience for fans to enjoy RVA's most famous shopping and dining district with the passion and atmosphere of Kickers pro soccer at City Stadium."
Tickets to the I Heart Carytown Craft Beer Festival are just $15 per person / $10 for Season Ticket Holders and includes festival admission, a ticket to the Kickers game, a drink ticket and a souvenir Carytown pint glass (while supplies last).
