It's a Party at the Park as the Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday, June 17th for a three game home stand. Here's what you can expect over the next six games:
June 17-19 vs. Wisconsin
The Kernels return to Perfect Game Field on Friday, June 17th to open a three game series with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. It's Hawkeye Sports Night as the Kernels will wear special black and gold Hawkeye jerseys that will be sold during the game via a silent auction with the proceeds to benefit the Linn County I-Club. Herky the Iowa mascot will be here as well as member of the Iowa Spirit Squad. And, it's also a 98.1 KHAK Two for One Beer Friday - buy one 16 oz. draft beer at the regular price and get one free. The Kernels welcome fans from Monticello and Robbins to their nights at the ballpark. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
Everyone loves fireworks and the Kernels have a spectacular fireworks show scheduled after the Kernels game with Wisconsin on Saturday, June 18th, sponsored by Mix 96.5 FM. One lucky fan, age 18 and older, will win a new Whirlpool kitchen, presented by Amana General Store Appliances. Fans can register to win other prizes at the Amana General Store Appliances table on the concourse with the grand prize drawing held in the 7th inning. The game will also be broadcast LIVE on KCRG 9.2 as the Kernels welcome the Boy Scouts and fans from the Hiawatha Kids League to the game. Tickets are always in high demand for firework shows, so order early and get the best seats for the game. First pitch between the Kernels and Timber Rattlers is set for 6:35 pm with the gates opening at 5:30 pm.
Sunday, June 19th is Father's Day and we've got a huge day for Dad and the whole family at the ballpark. Start the day with a Father's Day Brunch at the stadium from 10 am to 1 pm. Brunch tickets are $16 for adults and $9 for kids 12 and under. Bundle a Kernels game ticket with your brunch for just $6.50 more! The first 1,000 fans through the gates when they open at 1 pm receive a free 2011 Kernels Baseball Card Set, thanks to Perfect Game USA. And, it's a 104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Day where fans can get autographs from the Kernels before the game, play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo during the game, enjoy Papa Balloon, face painters Funny Face Designs by Lori and storybook princess Jasmine, presented by Glass Slipper Entertainment on the concourse during the game, and run the bases and play catch in the outfield after the game, thanks to Wickwire Chiropractic and Wellness Center. The Kernels welcome fans from Marion, Mt. Vernon and Lisbon to their community day at the stadium. First pitch between the Kernels and Wisconsin is set for 2:05 pm.

104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Fun Day: Every Sunday home game, fans can get autographs from the Kernels players on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm. And after the game, kids (and adults) can run the bases and play catch on the field, thanks to Wickwire Chiropractic. Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com ; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
