The Party at the Park continues as the Kernels begin a six game home stand on Wednesday, May 16th. Here's a preview of what you can expect these next six games:

May 16-18 vs. Kane County

The Kernels open a six game home stand with three games against the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.

The home stand starts on Wednesday, May 16th as the Kernels welcome special guests from Truman and Westfield Schools to their night at the ballpark. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Cougars is set for 6:35 pm.

It's a Z 102.9 Thirsty Thursday when the Kernels take on Kane County at 6:35 pm. Get 12 oz. domestic draft beer for just $1.50 and 20 oz. bottles of soda and water for just two dollars. The Kernels welcome special guests from Emerson Elementary, Jackson Elementary and Trinity Lutheran School to their night at the ballpark. Gates open at 5:30 pm.

You'll want to be here when the gates open at 5:30 pm on Friday, May 19th as the first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a free Kernels hat. It's the Kernels Friday Night Mug Club, sponsored by Sip N Stir - buy a 16 oz. reusable mug for $5 and get a coupon to get it filled with domestic draft beer or soda at the concession stand. Bring it back every Friday home game and have it refilled for just $2.50 at the concession stand. Or, take your mug to Sip N Stir for $2.50 refills anytime. The Kernels welcome special groups from Cleveland Elementary, Norway Elementary, Summit School and Wright Elementary to their night at the stadium. After the game, Dr. Pepper will hand out bottles of Sun Drop to fans as they leave the stadium. First pitch between the Kernels and Kane County is set for 6:35 pm.

May 19-21 vs. Peoria

The Kernels wrap up the home stand with three games against the Peoria Chiefs, the Midwest League affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

May the force be with you - it's Star Wars Night on Saturday, May 19th. Come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character. Members of the 501st Central Garrison will be on site to entertain fans and pose for pictures. The Kernels will wear special Star Wars jerseys that will be sold during the game via a silent auction with the proceeds to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa. The game will be televised live on KCRG 9.2. The Cedar Rapids Solid Waste Agency will pass out free litter collection kits as people enter the gates. And, after the game enjoy our first post-game FIREWORKS show of the season. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Chiefs is set for 6:35 pm.

On Sunday, May 20th, it the rescheduled Kandy Drop Event. After the game, a helicopter will drop candy and soft toss balls onto the field for kids to pick up. Before the game, fans can get autographs from the Kernel players on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm and play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo during the game for a chance to win a trip to Anaheim and see the Angels play in 2013. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon and face painting by Funny Face Designs by Lori during the game. Storybook Princesses Snow White and Sleeping Beauty will be at the game, presented by Glass Slipper Entertainment, as well as World-Class Juggler, Doug Sayers. Gates open at 1:00 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Peoria is set for 2:05 pm.

It's our second noon game of the season on Monday, May 21st, presented by Z 102.9. Fans can enjoy our Noon Game Lunch Combo consisting of a sandwich (hamburger, cheeseburger, hot dog or brat), popcorn or chips, and soda or draft beer for just $7.00. Take a break from work for some spring daytime baseball as gates open at 11:00 am and first pitch between the Kernels and Peoria is set for 12:05 pm.

104.5 KDAT Run the Bases Sunday: Every Sunday home game, fans can get autographs from the Kernels players on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm. Play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo for a chance to win a trip Anaheim in 2013 and see an Angels game. And after the game, kids (and adults) can run the bases and play catch on the field. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse and face painting by Funny Face Designs by Lori. The Storybook Princesses from Glass Slipper Entertainment and juggler Doug Sayers will be here on three select Sundays.

Z 102.9 Thirsty Thursday: 12 oz. draft beer is $1.50 all game and get bottled soda and water for $2.

Kernels Mug Club, presented by Sip N Stir with media partner 98.1 KHAK: Buy a 16 oz. souvenir mug filled with your favorite domestic draft beer for just $5.00 and get refills at the Kernels concessions stands for just $2.50. You can also take the mug to Sip N Stir after the game for $2.50 refills and bring the mug back to every Kernels Friday home game for those $2.50 refills.

Noon Game Lunch Combo Special: Every Kernels noon home game, get a Lunch Combo Special, consisting of a sandwich (hamburger, cheeseburger, brat or hot dog), chips or popcorn and 16 oz. domestic draft beer or 20 oz. bottled soda or water for just $7!

Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com ; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
