Kernels Home stand: July 13 - 18
It's a Party at the Park as the Kernels continue a nine game 10-day home stand at Perfect Game Field, Veterans Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, July 13th. Here's what you can expect over the next six games:
July 13-15 vs. Bowling Green
After a day off for the Major League All-Star Game on July 12, the Kernels continue the nine game home stand with three games against the Bowling Green Hot Rods, the Midwest League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. The Kernels welcome all the boys and girls that took part in the League of Dreams Youth Baseball Program with a ceremony on the field before the game. Gates open at 5:30 pm and first pitch between the Kernels and Hot Rods is set for 6:35 pm.
Bring your thirst to the ballpark on Thursday, July 14th for 100.7 The Fox Thirsty Thursday. Bottle soda and water are just $2 all game and 12 oz. draft beer is just $1.50. Tip the Fox DJ's that are pouring beer at the special stand on the concourse as their tips will be donated to a local charity. First pitch is set for 6:35 pm with the gates opening at 5:30 pm.
You could win one of three used cars that will be given away during the game as part of Pat McGrath Used Car Night on Friday, July 15th. Three lucky fans, age 18 and older, will win a used car during the game from Pat McGrath. And, it's 70's Decade Night - come dressed in your tie-dye t-shirts and bell bottoms as the Kernels celebrate the 70's all game long. The Kernels welcome special guests from Marengo to their community night at the ballpark. It's also 98.1 KHAK Two for One Beer Friday - buy one 16 oz. draft beer at the regular price and get the second free. First pitch between the Hot Rods and Kernels is at 6:35 pm with the gates opening at 5:30 pm.
July 16-18 vs. Dayton
The Kernels wrap up the nine game home stand with three games against the Dayton Dragons, the Midwest League affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The day starts with a youth baseball clinic from 10 to 11:30 am for boys and girls ages 5-12. Proceeds from the clinic benefit the Kernels Foundation. Everyone loves fireworks and the Kernels have a spectacular fireworks show scheduled after the Kernels game with Dayton on Saturday, July 16th, sponsored by Mix 96.5 FM. The Kernels welcome special guests from the ADA, The Arc, and Quaker Oats employees and families to the game. The game will also be televised locally on KCRG 9.2. Fireworks nights are the most popular games of the season so get your tickets early for the best seats. Gates open at 5:30 pm and the Kernels take on Dayton at 6:35 pm.
Sunday's are always a fun day and it's a 104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Day on July 17th where fans can get autographs from the Kernels before the game, play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo during the game, enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon, face painters Funny Face Designs by Lori and storybook princess Tiana, presented by Glass Slipper Entertainment on the concourse during the game, and run the bases and play catch in the outfield after the game, thanks to Wickwire Chiropractic and Wellness Center. First pitch between the Kernels and Dragons is set for 2:05 pm with the gates opening at 1:00 pm.
Take a break from the office with a Noon Game against the Dragons, sponsored by Mix 96.5 FM. Enjoy our Noon Lunch Combo Special of a sandwich, chips or popcorn, and soda or draft beer for just $7. Gates open at 11 am with first pitch between Dayton and the Kernels set for 12:05 pm.

Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
