Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
August 10, 2006 - Thursday's game between the Cedar Rapids Kernels and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions. The decision was reached by both field managers, the umpires and Kernels staff.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Friday, August 11 starting at 6 pm with the gates opening at 5 pm. The games will be 7 innings in length with approximately 30 minutes between games.
Fans who had tickets for tonight's game may exchange them at the Kernels Ticket Office for tickets of equal value at any future Kernels home game in the regular season, based on availability. Fans that had tickets on the Miller Mezzanine, Randy Kuehl Honfidence Pavilion or Pre-Game Picnic will NOT be able to exchange those tickets.
The Oncology Associates Cancer Awareness Night has been rescheduled to a rain date of Friday, August 25th, where the silent auction for the Pink Jerseys being worn by the players will be restarted.
The Kernels will have Anthony Ortega pitching Game 1 with Brok Butcher getting the nod for Game 2. Wisconsin sends Marwin Vega to the hill in the first game and Paul Fagan will start the nightcap.
