
Kernels activate Jimenez from DL; assign Ford to Tempe

April 16, 2008 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce today that RHP Esmerlin Jimenez has been activated from the DL and that RHP A.J. Ford has been assigned to Extended Spring Training.
Jimenez, who has not appeared in a game for the Kernels this season, was placed on the DL on April 8th with a finger injury.
Ford made two relief appearances for the Kernels. In 2.2 innings pitched, he allowed no runs, four hits, walked one and struck out two.
With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the MWL maximum of 25 active players with one player currently on the disabled list.
The Kernels complete a 10-game home stand Wednesday night at 6:30 pm against the Great Lakes Loons. Gates open at 5:30 pm.
