Dayton Powers Back to Take Series Finale
April 16, 2008 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Two big innings by the Dayton Dragons put the game out of reach and helped them claim the final game of the three-game set with the Snappers, 9-2. Beloit's Michael Tarsi picked up the loss going 4.1 innings and allowing eight runs on eleven hits.
The Snappers jumped on the board first in the bottom of the second on a throwing error from Dayton pitcher Luis Montano. Montano's error allowed Deibinson Romero, who earlier doubled, to score from third and give Beloit a 1-0 lead.
The Dragons then took control with four runs in the third, one in the fourth and three more in the fifth inning to take a 8-1 lead after four and a half.
The Snaps were never able to recover as they went on to lose to the Dragons by a final of 9-2.
Beloit catcher Jair Fernandez was an impressive 3 for 4 with a double.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers will have an off day tomorrow, April 17th, before they welcome in the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers for a three-game series at Pohlman Field beginning on Friday. Beloit's Brian Kirwan will take on Wisconsin's Edward Paredes in game one of the series on Friday.
