Kansas City Brigade News Release

Kansas City (March 6) - It took only one game for former Kansas State athlete Kenny McEntyre to make his presence felt in Kansas City. In his debut with the Brigade, McEntyre intercepted two passes from Chicago Rush quarterback Matt D'Orazio, including the game-clincher late in the fourth quarter. For his efforts, McEntyre has been named the ADT Defensive Player of the Week to kickoff the 2007 season.

The Brigade acquired McEntyre last summer to bolster the all-important secondary and add more veteran leadership in the locker room. A veteran of eight Arena Football seasons, McEntyre has 65 career interceptions, ranking him first in Arena Football League history. He also holds the all-time record for interception returns for a touchdown with 12.

Nicknamed the Glove for his ability to play tight man-to-man coverage, McEntyre has led the league in interceptions three times (1999-2000, 2004) and finished second in 2001-03. He earned first-team All-Arena honors six consecutive seasons (2000-05) and has been the ADT Defensive Player of the Year three times (2000-01, 2004). Last season McEntyre was honored with the Al Lucas Hero Award for his work in Hurricane Katrina relief.
