Georgia Force News Release

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Arena Football League has announced that QB Chris Greisen has been named AFL Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Week 1 against Arizona.

Greisen, 6-3, 220 pounds, connected on 25 of 30 passes for 337 yards with nine touchdowns in his first career start to lead the Force (1-0) to a 69-65 victory over the Arizona Rattlers (0-1) this past Saturday. His nine touchdown passes tied a single-game team-high, which was set in 2005 by QB Matt Nagy (vs. Dallas, 5/14). The nine touchdown passes were also one short of the AFL record for touchdown passes by one player in a team's opening game of the season. The record was set by QB Mike Pawlawski of the Albany Firebirds in 2000.

"We are very pleased with Greisen's performance this past week," said head coach Doug Plank. "He displayed the physical skills and leadership we thought he possessed when we signed him. I am looking forward to seeing him improve throughout the season."
