Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels have placed outfielder Kennie Taylor on the 7-day injured list with a left quad strain. Taylor was removed from the Kernels' game in Appleton on July 28 in the eighth inning after attempting to chase down a foul ball. With today's transaction, the Kernels' active roster stands at 28 players.
Taylor has played in 28 games for Cedar Rapids this season, slashing .216/.283/.289 for a .572 OPS. He has scored 15 runs while adding two doubles, a triple and a home run with five RBI.
