The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Victoria Royals 4-3 in a shootout on Saturday night in Victoria, sweeping a weekend set with the Royals.

Jordon Cooke stopped all three Victoria shooters in the shootout after Zach Franko buried the first shot of the breakaway contest, grabbing two points for the win.

After a scoreless first period the teams exchanged goals in the second as Kelowna twice erased one-goal deficits.

In the third period Brett Bulmer gave Kelowna a 3-2 lead with his 18th before the Royals were able to tie it. Carter Rigby, with his 12th, and Myles Bell, with his 8th, also tallied for the Rockets.

Cooke earned the win in net, facing 26 Victoria shots.

The Rockets improve to 17-19-2-3, sixth place in the Western Conference.

Kelowna returns home to prepare for a stretch of four games in five days, starting with a pair in Portland this week. The Rockets are in Portland Wednesday and Friday nights before Kelowna plays in Vancouver on Saturday and in Everett on Sunday.
