 Kelowna Rockets

Kelowna beats Kamloops

February 2, 2014 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kelowna Rockets News Release

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 7-3 on Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna as the Rockets swept a weekend home and home set with the Blazers, thanks in large part to Myles Bell.

Bell had a career night Saturday, scoring four times and adding two assists to lead the Rockets.

Together with a three point night on Friday, Bell was in on nine of the Rockets 11 goals against the Blazers this weekend in beating Kamloops 7-3 and 4-2.

The Rockets jumped out of the gates quickly on Saturday night, scoring two quick goals to take the lead and extending it to 4-1 in the second before Kamloops cut the lead to 4-3 after two.

But Bell's third of the night early in the third vaulted the Rockets onto the win.

Tyson Baillie, Ryan Olsen and Rourke Chartier also scored for the Rockets while Jordon Cooke earned the win in net.

The victory improved the Rockets record to a WHL-best 42-7-0-3 on the season heading into three more home games next week.

Kelowna will play host to Red Deer on Wednesday before hosting Edmonton and Victoria next weekend.
