Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced today that former NHL All-Star Keith Primeau has been named Special Assistant to the General Manager / Director of Player Development. Primeau's duties will include player recruiting, scouting, player evaluation and assessment, and team administration.

"To have Keith as a part of our staff is very exciting for the new direction of our program," said Wranglers General Manager Ryan Mougenel. "Keith brings a ton of hockey knowledge to our organization and we are very fortunate to have him. His presence and leadership are going to be a huge asset and something I will rely on heavily during the season. To have this quality of a person for our program is extraordinary and I look forward to seeing his passion for player development match the intensity he brought on the ice in the NHL for 15 seasons."

Primeau's NHL career spanned 15 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings, Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Philadelphia Flyers where he amassed 266 goals, 353 assists, and 1541 penalty minutes in 909 regular season games. Primeau is a two-time NHL All-Star appearing in the 1999 and 2004 mid-season classics. Upon his retirement in September 2006, Keith had also appeared in 128 NHL Playoff games accumulating 18 Goals, 39 Assists, and 213 Penalty Minutes.

On May 5, 2000, Primeau scored the game-winning goal for the Philadelphia Flyers in the longest game in modern NHL playoff history (five overtime periods for a total of 152 minutes and one second) against Ron Tugnutt of the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Along with his brother Wayne and Wranglers General Manager and Head Coach Ryan Mougenel, Primeau is owner and operator of the Durham Hockey Institute, a hockey school in the Toronto area. The three are also partners in the ownership of the Whitby Fury, a member of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL)
