Everblades MacDonald Going to NHL's Panthers

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that equipment manager Jason MacDonald will be leaving Southwest Florida after three seasons to join the NHL's Florida Panthers. The Michigan native accepted an offer today to be an assistant equipment manager for the Everblades affiliate.

"I'd like to thank Craig Brush, Malcolm Cameron, Gerry Fleming, Jason Nobili, Todd Wisocki, Kevin Reiter and the rest of the Everblades staff for a fantastic three years in Southwest, Florida," said MacDonald. "I wish nothing for the best for the organization and the fans who have always been great to me."

MacDonald went on to say that the Panthers opportunity is a dream come true, "The opportunity has come my way to fulfill my dream of reaching the National Hockey League with the Florida Panthers. I am truly excited and looking forward to it."

MacDonald joined the Everblades during the 2006-07 season. Prior to his three seasons spent in Southwest Florida, MacDonald worked in the Central Hockey League with the Fort Worth Brahmas during the 2005-06 campaign. From 2001-05, Jason worked as an assistant equipment manager for the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. He began sharpening skates in 2000 on the international level as an equipment manager for the U.S. National Development Team program.

Everblades president Craig Brush is happy to see Jason get this opportunity, "Jason has done a great job for us over the last three years. He is very deserving of this chance to move to the highest level in hockey. I wish him all the best with the Panthers."
