Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones will play a home-and-home preseason series with the Toledo Walleye to close training camp, the club announced this afternoon. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

The Cyclones will host Toledo on Friday, October 9 at 7:30pm at U.S. Bank Arena. The preseason will end the following night with a contest against the Walleye at Sylvania's Tam-O-Shanter Arena. The regular season opens at Elmira on Friday night, October 16.

Cincinnati won its second straight North Division regular season title last year with a 41-26-5 record. The Cyclones then knocked off Wheeling in seven games and Elmira in a four game sweep to capture their second straight North Division playoff title. South Carolina eliminated Cincinnati in the American Conference Finals, en route to the Kelly Cup championship.

Toledo returns a team to the ECHL after a two-year hiatus. The Walleye will play in the brand new Lucas County Downtown Arena this fall. The contest at U.S. Bank Arena will be the first time the Toledo Walleye will hit the ice to play a game.

Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones open the home portion of their schedule against the Wheeling Nailers on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30pm. There will be a special North Division championship banner raising ceremony prior to the game.
