Kastelic Scores in OT to Lift Hitmen

Saskatoon, SK - The Calgary Hitmen ran their winning streak to a season-high six games with a 4-3 overtime win against the Saskatoon Blades on Friday night at SaskTel Centre.

Mark Kastelic produced the game winner on a power play 1:28 into the extra session. For Kastelic it was his second goal of the night and third point as the captain also recorded an assist.

Calgary forced overtime when Carson Focht tipped home a Vladislav Yeryomenko point shot with 24.4 seconds remaining in regulation.

Egor Zamula also scored for the visitors who overcame a 3-1 second period deficit. Zamula tallied a pair of assists to finish with three points alongside Kastelic and Jake Kryski who picked up three helpers.

Calgary outshot Saskatoon 39-24 with rookie goaltender Jack McNaughton making 21 saves to claim the victory.

The Hitmen, 21-16-3-1, are back on the ice tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 12 in Prince Albert for a date with the CHL's top-ranked Raiders.

Calgary will then wrap up their four-game road trip on Jan. 19 against the Edmonton Oil Kings before returning home to welcome Red Deer to the 'Dome on Jan. 20.
