Kasparek Returns To Generals, Stanton To High Desert

JACKSON, TN. (AUGUST 4, 2011) - The Jackson Generals have made the following roster move prior to tonight's series finale with the Mississippi Braves at Pringles Park. RHP Kenn Kasparek has been transferred from A+ High Desert and joins the Generals rotation and RHP Taylor Stanton has been transferred to A+ High Desert.

. RHP Taylor Stanton (from AA Jackson)

KASPAREK, 25, was placed on the disabled list with soreness in his right elbow on May 13th, and was activated from the DL on July 24th, being sent to A+ High Desert for rehab. While with the Mavericks, Kasparek had a 0-1 record in 2 starts, with a 4.63 ERA. Kasparek struck out 11 and walked just 1 in the 11.2 innings. Despite being injured Kasparek earned a Southern League All-Star selection, Kasparek was 4-2 for the Generals in 6 starts, with a 3.45 ERA. Kenn struck out 18 and walked 12.

STANTON, 23, was promoted to Jackson when Kasparek was placed on the DL on May 13th. Taylor made 3 starts and appeared in 22 total games for the Generals, posting a 1-4 record with 2 saves and a 4.35 ERA in 51.2 innings. Stanton made the start on May 13th in place of Kasparek and took a no decision

The Generals roster stands at 24 active players, 12 pitchers, 2 catchers, 6 infielders, 4 outfielders and 5 disabled players.
