After three scoreless innings the Generals struck for four runs against Lugo in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jake Shaffer helped start the scoring with a bunt RBI single and Scott Savastano and Carlos Triunfel (2) followed with run scoring singles of their own. Jackson led 4-0.
In the top of the seventh Matt Kennelly smashed a three-run bases clearing double down the right field line that cut the Jackson lead to 4-3. With a runner at third and one out, reliever Bobby LaFromboise got Mycal Jones to hit into an inning ending double play to preserve the lead.
