Karol Świderski Starts for Poland in FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 against Lionel Messi's Argentina
November 30, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Charlotte FC News Release
Charlotte FC forward Karol Świderski starts for the Polish National Team in their high-stakes World Cup match against Lionel Messi's Argentina. Świderski becomes the first active Charlotte FC player to start in a World Cup.
Poland will advance out of the group stages with either a win or a draw. The last time Poland reached the Round of 16 was in the 1986 Mexico World Cup.
Their opponent Argentina can secure their spot in the knockouts with a win. However, a draw could be enough if the matchup between Mexico and Saudi Arabia ends up in a draw. Every team in Group C is still capable of making it out of the group and today's matches will determine their fate.
Group C Standings
1. Poland - 4 points
2. Argentina - 3 points
3. Saudi Arabia - 3 points
4. Mexico - 1 point
