(KANNAPOLIS, N.C.) Kannapolis pitcher Blair Walters allowed one hit and no runs through the first seven innings as the Intimidators shut out the Lexington Legends 5-0 Thursday night in Kannapolis.

Kannapolis took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on back-to-back doubles by Rangel Ravelo and Leighton Pangilinan.

The Intimidators added four runs in the third inning. Garis Pena led off with a single and moved to second on a one-out single by Grant Buckner. Kevan Smith singled to score Pena, and when shortstop Chan Jong Moon's relay throw was wide of home plate for an error, the runners moved up to second and third. Both scored on a single by Mark Haddow. Haddow took second on a throw to home, and then scored the fourth run of the inning on a base hit by Rangel Ravelo, who had four hits in four at-bats.

Walters, a left-hander, took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but with two outs, Delino DeShields Jr. lined a clean single to right field for Lexington's only hit of the game.

Walters (2-2) got the victory. Bryan Blough pitched two innings of scoreless relief. Legends starter Nick Tropeano (2-3) was the losing pitcher.

The two teams meet again Friday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
