Kamloops wins over Kelowna

The Kamloops Blazers came from behind to defeat the Kelowna Rockets 4-3 in an entertaining game in front of 6,063 fans at Prospera Place on Saturday night.

The Rockets led 2-0 early in the second period before the Blazers scored four straight goals, two of them by first star Dylan Willick in the win.

Trailing 4-2 late in the game Damon Severson brought Kelowna to within a goal when he made it 4-3 on a goal mouth scramble. But the Rockets couldn't generate the tying goal in the final seconds.

The loss drops the Rockets record to 5-9-1-0.

Kelowna opened the scoring in the first period when rookie Madison Bowey scored his second goal of the season. Shane McColgan made it 2-0 Kelowna 2:33 into the second period with his 5th of the season.

Kamloops scored two straight before the end of the second period as Willick and Ryan Hanes scored to send the teams to the third period with the game tied 2-2. Brendan Ranford also scored for Kamloops.

The Rockets now get set for a pair of games against the Portland Winterhawks next weekend as the two teams will meet at Prospera Place next Friday and Saturday nights.
