Kalamazoo, Mich - The Kalamazoo Growlers lost a 7-5 contest to the Wisconsin Woodchucks tonight. The Growlers Salute to Selfie Night garnered heavy attention across the internet and throughout different social mediums.

Back in March, the Growlers allowed fans to submit selfies to create the first ever selfie jersey, it was then featured in Sports Illustrated. Over 300 fan selfies were used to create a mosaic effect on the jerseys.

The selfie jerseys were worn during the game by Growlers players and auctioned off to fans during the game.

The Growlers selfie jerseys were mentioned and covered by a number of different national sports media outlets such as Bleacher Report, MLB Fan Cave, Fox Sports Detroit, SB Nation, and ESPN Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell.

The Growlers (8-11) fell short to the Woodchucks (13-8) in a hitting parade between both teams. The first 17 hits of the game between both teams were all singles until Woodchuck Paul DeJong (Illinois State) hit a home run over the Miller Lite Party Zone.

Defensively, the Growlers were solid. Their infield turned a season high five double plays. The Growlers lead the Northwoods League in double plays.
