Kabengele, Samanic Earn All-NBA G League Honors

PORTLAND, ME - The NBA G League today announced that Maine Celtics Two-Way Player Mfiondu Kabengele and forward Luka Šamanić have earned All-NBA G League honors.

Kabengele was named to the All-NBA G League Second Team, as well as the NBA G League All-Defensive Team. Šamanić joins Kabengele on the All-NBA G League Second Team.

Kabengele played in 42 games for Maine this season (39 starts). The 6-10 center averaged 19.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 blocked shots per game. The Florida State product recorded 26 double-doubles on the season, including seven consecutive games in March. Kabengele was named NBA G League Player of the Week for the final week of the regular season.

In 44 games (all starts) for the Celtics, Šamanić, a 6-11 forward, led Maine in scoring, averaging 21.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. The Croatian was named Kia NBA G League Player of the Month for November, and earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the NBA at the end of the season, signing a 10-day contract with the Utah Jazz.

Kabengele and Šamanić are the first Maine Celtics to earn All-NBA G League honors since Tremont Waters (2019-20).
