Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, SD - The NBA G League announced today that Sioux Falls Skyforce guard Jamaree Bouyea was named to the NBA G League-All Rookie Team and All-NBA G League Second Team.
He becomes the ninth rookie to earn such honor and marks the second consecutive season the Skyforce has had a player on the NBA G League-All Rookie Team (Micah Potter in 2021-22). Bouyea is also the first player since Yante Maten in 2018-19 to be a member of an All-NBA G League Team and is the fifth player in franchise history to be named to the Second Team.
Bouyea, a 6-2, 180-pound guard went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft via San Francisco, where he would go on to average 17.2 points on 52.7 percent shooting, 6.0 rebounds and 6.2 assists in 35.0 minutes in 37 starts (38 appearances) between the Showcase Cup and regular season for Sioux Falls. He was one of four players in the NBA G League to average 18-plus points (18.6), five-plus rebounds (5.1) and six-plus assists (6.4) during the regular season.
His performance helped him earn two NBA Call-Ups this season (Miami HEAT and Washington Wizards) on 10-day contracts, where in five total appearances, he averaged 3.0 points on 42.9 percent shooting, 1.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per 14.1 minutes a game.
Bouyea's play down the stretch of the regular season, where the Skyforce won 11 of the last 13 games he appeared in, would help the franchise make the playoffs for the first time since 2015-16 and a spot in the Western Conference Finals. In three playoff games, Bouyea averaged 15.7 points on 37.5 percent shooting, 7.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.7 blocks per 36.3 minutes of play.
Prior to joining the Skyforce, Bouyea played with the HEAT in the 2022 NBA Summer League, where in seven total games between that and the California Classic, he averaged 6.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per 23.3 minutes a game.
Bouyea would earn an invitation to training camp with the HEAT ahead of the 2022-23 season, and averaged 8.5 points on 60.9 percent shooting, 2.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per 17.2 minutes in four preseason games before being allocated to Sioux Falls.
He joins Kenneth Lofton Jr. of the Memphis Hustle, Moussa Diabatè of the Ontario Clippers, Darius Days of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Lester Quiñones of the Santa Cruz Warriors on the NBA G League-All Rookie Team. Sharife Cooper of the Cleveland Charge, Darius Days, Mfiondu Kabengele, and Luka Samanic of the Maine Celtics were also named to the All-NBA G League Second Team, as well.
