Capital City Go-Go News Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The NBA G League announced today that Jay Huff has been named to the All-NBA G League First Team and NBA G League All-Defensive Team for his performances this season with the Capital City Go-Go, the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, and the South Bay Lakers. Kris Dunn, who joined the Utah Jazz back in February, has also been named to the NBA G League All-Defensive team for his performances with the Go-Go this season.
Huff, who is currently on a two-way contract with the Wizards, earns All-NBA G League and All-Defensive team honors after being named the Kia NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year last week. In 28 games played, the Virginia product led the NBA G League with 3.1 blocks per game and 87 total blocks in the regular season. He also ranked second in the league for block percentage (among players with at least 20 games played) with 65.9 percent. For 2022-23, Huff recorded averages of 15.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game along with his 3.1 blocks. Huff tied two others for most blocks in a game this season when he recorded seven blocks on January 9 while playing for the Lakers against the Iowa Wolves.
Dunn earns All-Defensive team honors after leading the NBA G League with 2.5 steals per game in 20 regular season games played with the Go-Go. He is tied for the second-most steals in a single game this season after recording six steals in two separate games, with only the Go-Go's Jules Bernard recording more steals in a game with his seven-steal performance on March 12 in Lakeland. With 2.5 steals per game and 81 total steals in the Showcase and Regular Season combined, Dunn is now first in franchise history for most steals per game and third for most total steals in a season. The Providence product was also averaging 16.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game before earning his call-up with the Utah Jazz.
Huff is the second player in Go-Go history to earn All-NBA G League First Team honors after Jordan McRae was named to the 2018-19 first team during the Go-Go's inaugural season. Huff and Dunn will also be the first two players in franchise history to earn NBA G League All-Defensive Team honors.
