K-Wings Earn Award

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, announce the organization has been selected Best Local Sports Team during the recent 2nd Annual Kalamazoo Gazette Readers' Choice Awards.

The award was proclaimed yesterday in the Sunday Edition of the Kalamazoo Gazette. Over 1,500 people participated in the online vote that covered arts and entertainment, sports and leisure, services, shopping and dining.

"We (K-Wings) pride ourselves in delivering family-affordable entertainment to our fans," said Wade Welsh, vice president/general manager. "We understand families have choices for their entertainment options and we are excited that so many people in southwest Michigan feel that the K-Wings were worthy of this honor."

Kalamazoo will be back in action this Friday, October 30th with a 7:35 p.m. battle on the road against the Wheeling Nailers.

The K-Wings will return to Wings Stadium this Saturday, October 31st for a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Toledo Walleye during the 6th Annual Orange Ice Game. Fans are encouraged to wear their costumes trick-or-treating and a special costume contest.

Single-game tickets for any of the K-Wings 36 regular season home games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office.
