K-Wings Dance Team Tryouts Set For October 6th

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, two-time defending North Division Champions and reigning Eastern Conference Champions and affiliate of the National Hockey League's Vancouver Canucks, announce the first part of a two-day tryout for the K-Wings new Dance Team will be held Thursday, October 6th from 8-30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. at the West Michigan Dance Center.

The K-Wings first-ever Dance Team will be directed by Kate Clark. Clark, who has been dancing for over 20 years, has earned a reputation for her striking choreography and dedication to the art of dance. The owner and Artistic Director of the West Michigan Dance Center, Clark is also the head coach of the Western Michigan University Dance Team.

In college, Clark was a proud four-year member and two-year captain of the Western Michigan University Dance Team. In 2007, Clark led the WMU Dance Team to their first-ever National Competition appearance and 1st place championship.

The auditions will take place over a two-day tryout, with the dancers learning the routine on October 6th and then performing in front of a panel of judges on Sunday, October 9th starting at 7:30 p.m., also at the West Michigan Dance Center.

The routine will be a 45-60 second choreographed dance. Auditions will take place in groups of three to four dancers. All interested performers should come to the auditions performance ready, wearing athletic or dance clothing and dance or gym shoes.
