Countdown to Face-off Kalamazoo Wings Vs Muskegon Fury Wings Stadium Kalamazoo, MI Saturday, January 25, 2003 7:30 PM
Game Preview The Kalamazoo Wings and the Muskegon Fury will renew their rivalry tonight at Wings Stadium. The meeting will be seventh of ten encounters between the clubs. Tonight's a big game for Kalamazoo, who looks to edge closer up the Western Conference standings. The K-Wings enter the game in fifth place in the Western Conference, but trail Rockford by only 4 points for fourth place.
Kalamazoo will be without the serves of Craig Bilick, who was suspended one game by the UHL for his actions late in the game yesterday against the Missouri River Otters. The K-Wings enter the red hot, as they have won 5 of their last 7 games, including a 3-1 victory over the top team in the UHL, the Missouri River Otters.
Muskegon will look to end a two game losing skid tonight. The Fury are 5-5-0 in their last 10 games. Tonight is also a big game for the Fury. Muskegon enters the game in third place in the Western Conference; however, they trail Quad City by 2 points for second place, and lead Rockford by just 1 point. The game will also be a reunion of sorts, as there are three former K-Wings on the Muskegon Fury. Andrew Lukasak played for the K-Wings last season, while Joe Pecoraro and Bryan Farquhar played for the K-Wings his season. Tonight will be the first time that Pecoraro and Farquhar have played against their former team. Coming into tonight Farquhar hasn't played a game for the Fury. Bryan was signed by Fury this week, after being waived by the K-Wings earlier in the week.

Next Meeting: Saturday, February 1st @ Walker Arena in Muskegon, Michigan.
Bilick Suspended K-Wings forward Craig Bilick has been suspended one game by the UHL for his actions during the K-Wings game last night versus Missouri. Bilick will miss Kalamazoo's game tonight against Muskegon, however, he will be eligible to return to the K-Wings lineup, when Kalamazoo host the Fort Wayne Komets on Wednesday night (1/29) at Wings Stadium. The Mad Hatter For the second time his season, K-Wings forward Jim Brown has recorded a hat trick, and for the second time it has come against the Missouri River Otters. Jim scored all 3 goals (including 2 shorthanded) in the K-Wings 3-1 victory last night over Missouri. Brown now has scored 5 game winners this season, which leads the K-Wings, and places him tied for second in the league.
Get Shorty With Jim Brown's two shorthanded goals last night, the K-Wings as a team have netted 12 shorthanded goals on the season. With 33 games remaining the K-Wings are just 3 shorthanders shy of the franchise mark of 15 set in the 1999-2000 season (Madison Kodiaks). While the K-Wings are close the franchise mark, they are still a ways away from the UHL record of 36 shorthanded goals set by the 96-97 Thunder Bay Thunder Cats.
Mini Stick Night When the K-Wings play the Muskegon Fury tonight, they will do so on K-Wings Mini-Hockey Stick Night. The first 1,000 fans at Wings Stadium will receive a free K-Wings Mini-Hockey Stick.
