Kinston Indians News Release


First Place Kinston begins a three game home series with Lynchburg tonight at Historic Grainger Stadium. Game time 6:30 pm.

Gold Glove Caliber K-Tribe - Kinston is statistically the best team in the Carolina League. The K-Tribe's fielding percentage of .978 just edges Salem's mark of .977. As a team, Kinston has committed a league best 68 errors, five better than Salem. Among defensive starters, Roberto Perez holds Kinston's best mark, a .991 fielding percentage. Potomac's percentage of .966 is far and away the worst. Potomac has also totaled 104 errors, 13 more than the next closest team, Winston-Salem.

Roster Move - On July 5th, Kinston infielder Tyler Cannon was promoted to AA Akron. Argenis Martinez was promoted from Lake County. Like Cannon, Martinez has played mostly at 2nd base.

Minor League Baseball President Pat O'Conner will visit Kinston's Historic Grainger Stadium this Thursday, July 7th. O'Conner will be available to the media at 4:30 pm at the stadium. O'Conner is visiting Kinston for the first time on an invitation from K-Tribe Chairman Cam McRae and the Carolina League.
