Playoff Picture - With a Kinston loss and a Salem win the K-Tribe is now one game behind the Red Sox for the final playoff spot with three games remaining. Potomac was eliminated from the playoff picture in the Northern Division when Wilmington clinched with a win over Frederick.
Playoff Tradition - The K-Tribe was left out of the playoffs last season, breaking a Carolina League record streak of seven straight years in the postseason. (2001-07). Kinston has made the playoffs in 11 of the last 14 seasons and has never missed the playoffs in back-to-back years as a Cleveland Indians affiliate (Since 1987 - 23 years)
