The K-Tribe begins the day just a half game behind Salem for the final playoff spot in the Carolina League Southern Division. With 22 games to play, this is the last time these two teams will meet this season. The K-Tribe enjoy a scheduled off day on Monday, then kick of a homestand with a double header against Myrtle Beach starting at 6pm on Tuesday at Historic Grainger Stadium.
August Rush - The K-Tribe is now 11-2 in the month of August, just a half game behind Salem for the final playoff spot in the Carolina League Southern Division with 22 games to play. The K-Tribe has posted a 2.17 team ERA in the month of August, the lowest in the Carolina League. Kinston is also second in the CL for the month in batting average (.286) and home runs with ten. Kinston's 11 wins this month tie their previous monthly high of 11 wins in both April and May. Kinston won just seven games in June and nine games in July.
