Birmingham's Justin Larson named Warrior Player of the Week HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Justin Larson of the Birmingham Bulls is the Warrior Player of the Week for February 26-March 4.
Justin Larson named SPHL Warrior Player of the Week
Larson scored a shootout goal and added four assists as the Bulls took a pair of games from Knoxville to move to within three points of the final playoff spot. With the weekend sweep, Birmingham improved to 8-2-0 in their last 10 games. On Friday, the Buckhorn, ON native had a first period assist and scored one of Birmingham's three shootout goals as the Bulls edged past Knoxville 6-5. The following night, Larson assisted on three Birmingham goals, including the overtime game-winner as the Bulls defeated Knoxville 4-3. Signed by Birmingham on January 14, Larson has recorded 15 points in 15 games for the Bulls (4g, 11a). Last season, Larson captured a Germany3 (Oberliga) Championship with the Tilburg Trappers, scoring 27 goals and adding 45 assists in 44 games.
