Ice Flyers Fall 4-2 to the RiverKings

PENSACOLA, FL. - The Pensacola Ice Flyers played the Mississippi RiverKings in the rescheduled February 16 game tonight, where they fell 4-2. Both of the Ice Flyers' goals were scored by Jessyko Bernard. Donald Olivieri and Brantley Sherwood scored for the RiverKings, with Ryan Marcuz scoring twice.

The first goal of the game came at 9:17 for the Ice Flyers when Jessyko Bernard scored on a power play. He was assisted by Troy Vance and Garrett Milan. It was the only goal of the period. Ice Flyers outshot the RiverKings 16-7.

Donald Olivieri tied the game for RiverKings at 3:10 of the second period with an unassisted power play goal. At 14:06, Brantley Sherwood put the RiverKings up one over the Ice Flyers with a short-handed goal on a pass from Kristaps Bazevics. The RiverKings outshot the Ice Flyers 11-7 in the second.

Jessyko Bernard tied the game up with a goal at 2:13 in the third on a pass from Tim Boyle. At 10:22, Ryan Marcuz, assisted by Devin Mantha and Derek Sutliffe put the RiverKings up one over the Ice Flyers. Ryan Marcuz scored once again on a pass from Devin Mantha on the empty Ice Flyers net with eight seconds left in the game. The Ice Flyers once again outshot the RiverKings 13-6.

Notes:

Jessyko Bernard scored the first goal for Ice Flyers for the third straight game.

Jessyko Bernard also scored both of the Ice Flyers' goals in tonight's game, putting his total up to 24 for the season.

The Ice Flyers will travel to Birmingham to take on the Bulls Friday, March 9 at 7:35 p.m. and Saturday, March 10 at 7:05 p.m. They play the Birmingham Bulls on Tuesday, March 20 in the rescheduled February 18 game. Any ticket purchased for the February 18 game will be valid for the March 20 game. All exchanges can be done at the Bay Center Box office in person Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
