Justin Che, Freddy Vargas, Bryan Acosta Called into National Team Duty

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas defender Justin Che (United States), winger Freddy Vargas (Venezuela) and midfielder Bryan Acosta (Honduras) have been called up to represent their respective countries in the upcoming June FIFA International Break.

Acosta and Vargas will depart following the Colorado Rapids match on May 29, 2021.

Che, 17, earns his first call up to the U.S. Men's National Team. He signed as the 30th Homegrown in club history on Oct. 2, 2020 and is currently on loan with FC Bayern Munich II, where he's appeared in seven matches, after a successful two-week training stint with the German club in January 2021 as part of the clubs' Elite Player Development partnership. The United States will play an international friendly against Switzerland on May 30 at 1PM CT.

Vargas, 22, joined FC Dallas on a one-year loan from Deportivo Lara on Jan. 15, 2021. He's appeared in four FC Dallas matches and recorded his first MLS assist on May 1 vs. Portland Timbers. Prior to joining FC Dallas, he spent four seasons with Deportivo Lara, appearing in 113 matches across all competitions. Vargas earns his first call up to La Vinotinto ahead of the CONMEBOL Copá America Argentina-Colombia 2021. Venezuela will play World Cup Qualifiers Group Stage matches against Bolivia on June 3 at 3PM CT and Uruguay on June 8 at 5:30PM CT.

Acosta, 27, has appeared in 42 regular season matches for FC Dallas since signing with the club in 2019. He's scored two goals and recorded four assists. He has 44 appearances for Los Catrachos, last appearing in international friendlies against Belarus and Greece on March 24 and 28, respectively. Honduras will face the United States on June 3 in the first semifinals matchup of the Concacaf Nations League Finals at 6:30PM CT.
