MLS to Conduct Waivers Following Conclusion of NCAA Season

Published on May 20, 2021 under Major League Soccer (MLS) News Release

NEW YORK - Major League Soccer will today conduct Waivers following the completion of the college soccer season.

Due to the unique circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, which extended the college soccer season into Spring, MLS created an additional opportunity for standout players to be drafted by MLS teams following the close of the college season.

Three players will be made available for selection in today's Waivers: Andrew Thomas* (Stanford University, Watford FC Academy), and seniors Spencer Glass (Indiana University, Chicago Fire FC Academy) and Jacob Montes (Georgetown University, Portland Timbers Academy).

Waiver Order

After all teams have played at least three regular season games, the Waiver Order is determined by points per game in the current standings, with the team posting the lowest points per game at the time of Waivers selecting first. The Waiver process will conclude on Monday, May 24.
