Cincinnati Jungle Kats News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - After over a month away from home, the Cincinnati Jungle Kats return to the field at U.S. Bank Arena this Saturday night at 7:30pm, when they will take on the Midwest Division rival Fort Wayne Fusion. Saturday will also be Chad Johnson "Ocho-Cinco" Bobblehead Night, as the first 1,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive the limited edition bobblehead with the famous Bengal donned in a Jungle Kats uniform.
The Jungle Kats will be in search of their first-ever franchise win this Saturday, while the Fort Wayne Fusion are in the midst of a two-game losing streak. Despite the below average start, history shows that a playoff appearance is not yet out of reach for the Jungle Kats. Last year's ArenaCup runner up, the Green Bay Blizzard, dropped 4 of its first 6 games before winning 10 ifs following 13 contests on their way to an American Conference Championship. The Blizzard lost to the Spokane Shock 57-34 in the 2006 ArenaCup.
The Kats defense will have to keep the ball from getting into the hands of Fusion receiver Jermaine Jackson. Jackson is tied for 1st in af2 with 42 receptions and has recorded a team-high 6 touchdowns. Fort Wayne's quarterback isn't a slouch either; Cody Hodges ranks third among all af2 players with 104 yards and 7 TD's on the ground. Combined with his 15 passing touchdowns this season, Hodges has been involved in 22 of 28 Fort Wayne touchdowns this season.
Great tickets for the game are still available by calling 513.381.TURF or online at www.JungleKatsFootball.com. Fans can hear all the action of Saturday's game on 1530 HOMER - The Sports Animal beginning at 7:15pm.
