Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings News Release
(Bossier City, LA) - The Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings have added a deeply experienced lineman and a reliable fullback/linebacker to the roster as final preparations are made for Saturday's game against the Corpus Christi Sharks.
Reggie Hargrove, a 6'4" 290 pound lineman from the University of Louisville, has played in the AFL, af2, CFL, and NFL Europe. Most recently, he was associated with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League. Last season, he appeared in five games for the af2's Everett Hawks. His CFL experience includes stints with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the British Columbia Lions. His resume includes time with the AFL's Detroit Fury and Chicago Rush, as well as free agent signings with the NFL's St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks. Seattle allocated his services to the Amsterdam Admirals. "Reggie's experience, not to mention his size, will be a welcome addition to our line play," said Battlewings head coach Jon Norris.
Frank Henson, who appeared in four games for the Battlewings in 2006, has rejoined the squad. He provides some needed depth at fullback and linebacker following an injury to Kendrick Bournes. "We expect Kendrick to make a complete recovery in a couple of weeks," Norris said. "Having Frank around gives us the luxury of taking a little pressure off Kendrick's rehabilitation. "Competition for roster spots is always a good thing." Henson, from Georgia Military, is listed a 6'3", 255 pounds. Hargrove also attended Georgia Military before transferring to Louisville for his final season of NCAA eligibility. At Louisville, Hargrove played in eleven games, including a bowl, and was credited with 40 tackles and two quarterback sacks.
Hargrove will wear #93. Henson will don # 47.
The Battlewings are undefeated through four games in 2007. Saturday's game in Corpus Christi will be broadcast live on am1130 KWKH, and can be heard on the internet at www.kwkhonline.com.
