Last time out.

The Joliet Slammers left 13 men on base in a 5-3 loss to the Schaumburg Boomers on Monday night. Schaumburg used the home run to take an early lead against Joliet and they held on from there for the victory. Nate Baumann took Steven Maxwell deep to center field for a solo home run in the second inning. Then in the fifth Gerard Hall hit his first home run of the season, a three-run shot, to make it 4-0 Boomers. Joliet got one back in the sixth inning when Hector Pellot scored on a wild pitch. But the Boomers tacked on another run in the eighth against reliever Geoff Brown as Frank Pfister doubled in a run. Joliet rallied in the ninth, scoring two runs before leaving the tying runs on base as Zach Mandelblatt hit into a fielder's choice to end the game. Maxwell went seven innings, giving up four runs on five hits and striking out seven as he suffered the loss. Cameron Roth picked up the win.

For Starters.

Wander Alvino makes his Slammers debut tonight. Alvino has six years of affiliated baseball experience in the Astros organization. He advanced as far as High Single-A and recorded a 4.19 ERA in the hitter-friendly California League in 2011. Alvino is 25 years of age and hails from the Dominican Republic.

Left on.

The Slammers left 13 men on base for the second straight game Monday night. The 13 they left on against London on Sunday came in 13 innings, the longest game of the season for the Slammers, in a 13-12 win.

June swoon.

The Slammers are currently 4-5 in June after going 7-6 in May. Their bullpen has struggled in recent games, posting an ERA of 4.84 in June after recording an ERA of 1.88 in May.

Forget about it!

Despite the recent bullpen struggles, the Slammers are almost unbeatable when leading after seven innings as they sport a record of 9-1 in that situation. They are 1-9 when trailing after seven.

Almost completely even.

The Slammers currently have a record of 11-11. Their run differential this season is almost even as they've been out-scored 99 to 98 on the year. It's worth noting that in last season's championship year, the Slammers were also 11-11 after 22 games.

Against right-handers.

Abel Nieves (.370), Ben Hewett (.333) and Erik Lis (.308) are all hitting over .300 against righties.

Error indicator.

The Slammers are 2-8 in games when they make an error. They are 9-3 in games when they do not.

Best of the best.

Slammers pitching staff has held opponents to a .229 batting average, the lowest in the league.

Out-hit.

When the Slammers out-hit an opponent they are 9-4, but when the opponent out-hits the Slammers Joliet has a record of 1-7.

Mr. Clutch.

David Fox is hitting .254 on the season but with men in scoring position he's hitting a scorching .444. He also leads the team in RBI with 15.

Movin' on up!

RHP Gaby Hernandez became the fourth Slammers player to move on to affiliated baseball when his contract was purchased by the Diamondbacks on May 21. He joins LHP Aaron Dott, Joliet native RHP Ryan Quigley and Darien native RHP Chris Pack as former Slammers in MLB organizations.

Transaction Wire.

The Slammers signed RHP Wander Alvino today.
