Last time out...

The Freedom scored two runs in the eighth and five more in the ninth on their way to an 11-4 win over the River City Rascals on Tuesday. River City grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second on RBI singles by Taylor Ard and Josh Ludy. But the Freedom responded with three runs in the fourth as Gaby Juarbe singled home Sam Eberle, Austin Newell scored on a wild pitch and Rob Kelly doubled home Juarbe. Florence would make the lead 4-2 in the sixth on a Cody Bishop sacrifice fly. A Saxon Butler RBI single and a Curran Redal RBI double tied the game in the bottom of the frame. The Freedom took the lead for good in the eighth on an error and a Juarbe RBI single. Then they exploded for five in the ninth as Eberle and Newell delivered two-RBI singles and Juarbe added a sacrifice fly. Tony Vocca got the win out of the bullpen for the Freedom as they tallied a season-high 11 runs in the game.

For Starters...

Coleman Stephens is making his sixth start of the season tonight for the Freedom. He has been a workhorse, tossing 32.1 innings so far and going six or more innings in four of his five starts. In his most recent outing on June 3, Stephens tossed seven innings of two-run ball in a no-decision against the Traverse City Beach Bums. 2015 is his fourth season of professional baseball and his second go-around in the Frontier League. Florence acquired Stephens as part of a three-team trade on December 28, 2014, which saw Jacob Tanis head to Windy City. The right-hander made his professional debut in 2012 with the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings of the North American Baseball League. Stephens split the 2013 season between the Fort Worth Cats of the United League and the Frontier Greys, compiling an 8-3 record in 20 appearances, 18 starts. Last season, Stephens played in the American Association, splitting time between Amarillo and Gary. Through his first three seasons in professional baseball Stephens has made 62 appearances, 45 starts.

Excellent Eberle...

Sam Eberle is on fire for the Freedom. He has recorded five straight multi hit games and leads the team in multi hit games with 11. Eberle is hitting .632 (12-19 over the last five contests.

Going for the series win...

If the Freedom win tonight it would be their first road series win of 2015. They only won two road series in all of 2014.

Here's the situation...

The Freedom are hitting .246 as a team but only .236 with runners in scoring position. Meanwhile their pitching staff is allowing opponents to hit .299 with runners in scoring position and .356 with runners in scoring position and two outs. It gets worse with the bases loaded. The Freedom are only hitting .143 with the bases juiced while opponents are hitting .400 with the bases full.

I plead the fifth...

The fifth inning has been a disaster for the Freedom this season. Opponents are outscoring them by a count of 34-7 in the fifth frame.

Walk it out...

The Freedom have drawn 91 walks this year, that's the most in the Frontier League.

Hit Parade...

The Freedom pitching staff has given up 212 hits on the season, the most in the Frontier League.

Run this way...

The Freedom's 49 stolen bases this season are the most in the Frontier League.

Against the Rascals...

The Freedom went 3-6 against the Rascals last season and 1-2 away from home.

Road Woes...

The Freedom have a 2-5 road record so far this season. They went 13-29 on the road in 2014.
