C's RETURN HOME TO GRAB 4-3 VICTORY OVER TRI-CITY Vancouver picks up first victory of second half, move into tie for 3rd
(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - Recently named Northwest League All-Star 2B Cavan Biggio delivered a two-run double in the bottom of the 7th inning that helped the Vancouver Canadians open a crucial three-game series against North Division rival Tri-City with a 4-3 victory in front of a sold out crowd.
Vancouver fell behind early, as the Dust Devils got to Canadians starter RHP Dalton Rodriguez for a run on seven hits over four innings. Canadians reliever LHP Stuart Holmes allowed a pair of runs on four hits over two innings before the combination of RHP Nick Hartman (2.0IP) and RHP Griffin Glaude (1.0IP) shut down the Tri-City offense with Hartman securing the victory, Glaude, the save.
Offensively, the Canadians mustered up seven hits off of the Dust Devils on Friday night with 2B Cavan Biggio delivering the biggest of the blows with a two-run double in the bottom of the 7th inning that erased Tri-City's three-run lead.
RF Josh Palacios (2-for-3) had the other multi-hit night for the Canadians who with the win improve to 1-3 (.250) on the second half of the season while Tri-City falls to 1-3 (.250).
