July 12, 2007 - Anderson, South Carolina- For the second time this season the Bradenton Juice swept the Anderson Joes winning by a score of 4-2 in 10 innings on Wednesday night. The Juice were able to capitalize on a costly error by the Joes in the 10th and Bradenton got a solid starting pitching performance from Luke Palmer to win for the 3rd time in the second half of the season.

Anderson scored first in the 5th inning when with two outs Heath Keel hit a double that was the first hit of the night for the Joes. Kevin Noles followed with a single to right field that drove home Keel putting the Joes up 1-0.

The Juice were not behind for long, scoring twice in the next frame. With one out Eddie Kim walked and two batters later Nick Corbeil singled to center field. Brenan Hererra followed by launching a triple that went over the head of center fielder Heath Keel that drove in Kim and Corbeil putting Bradenton on top 2-1.

The Joes fought back in the 7th inning tying the game. Kevin Noles smacked a two-out single to right field and the next batter Blake Gailen hit a single to left field that scored Noles. On the play Noles was on his way to second base and left fielder Mikela Olsen committed an error that allowed Noles to score.

With the score even at 2 the game went to extra innings. With one out in the 10th inning Al Corbeil ripped a double to right field and the next batter Eddie Kim drew an intentional walk. Two batters later Nick Corbeil hit a fly ball to shallow left field that the third baseman, the shortstop and the left fielder converged on. Shortstop Hector Borg tried catching the ball but it went off his glove and Al Corbeil and Eddie Kim scored putting the Juice up 4-2.

Marshall Plouffe pitched a perfect 10th inning for Bradenton picking up his first save and securing the Juice's 3rd win in as many nights in the second half and pushing their overall record to 27-20. Anderson falls to 0-3 in the second half and 13-35 overall.

Luke Palmer started for the Juice and he did well going 6 innings, allowing 1 run (earned) on 2 hits, walking 3 and striking out 6 batters. Pete Nickerson started for Anderson and he also did not fare in the pitching 6 innings, allowing 2 runs (all earned), on 6 hits, walking 3 and striking out 3.

Derek Hawk (2-5) pitched the 9th for Bradenton and he picked up the win, while Chase Leatherwood (0-1) took the loss for Anderson.

Of note for Bradenton Brenan Hererra went 3-5 with 2 singles and a 2-RBI triple in the 6th inning. Nick Corbeil had a 2-5 night with a double and a single.
