Peanuts Postpone Tonight's Contest With Foxhounds
July 11, 2007 - South Coast League (SCL)
South Georgia Peanuts News Release
The South Georgia Peanuts, presented by Security Bank, have postponed tonight's (Wednesday) scheduled contest with the Aiken Foxhounds. With a heavy amount of rain having already created a very muddy playing surface combined with the thunderstorms that will hit the area later today and tonight, getting the game in would have been close to impossible.
The game will be made up as part of a double-header when the Foxhounds return to Albany in August. Two seven inning games will be played on Tuesday August 14th with first pitch scheduled for 6:10.
South Georgia will return to the field on Thursday night for the continuation of the "Peach Series presented by Fairchild Roofing". South Georgia welcomes the Macon Music to Albany for games Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Thursday and Friday's games are scheduled for 7:10 while Saturday's game will be a special 4:10 start to accommodate fans wanting to attend the South Georgia Wildcats game that evening. Macon currently holds a 4-2 advantage against the Peanuts this season while coming up in second place, behind South Georgia, during the first half of the South Coast League season.
