South Georgia Peanuts News Release

(Albany, GA) The South Georgia Peanuts and South Coast League of Professional Baseball announced today the hiring of Deanna Davis to be the General Manager for the 2008 season.

Davis comes to Albany, Georgia, by way of the Frederick Keys (High A- Carolina), where she served as the Assistant General Manager for Ticketing and Operations. She replaces Keith Michlig who served as the Peanuts GM for the 2007 Inaugural Season.

"Deanna brings a wealth of front office experience which helped her in becoming one of the top executives in the Carolina League," said league CEO, Jamie Toole.

"Her passion and knowledge will serve the city of Albany and the Peanuts organization well."

The Peanuts captured the SCL Inaugural Crown on the field in 2007 and Davis will be responsible for transferring the excitement from the city's first championship to all areas of the Peanuts' team operations.

"My staff and I will be focusing on the continued philosophy of the South Coast League of bringing fun, affordable family entertainment to all," said Davis.

"Not only are we supplying America's Past Time to the community but quality time for the families as well."

Davis is definitely no stranger to hard work and determination and it is evident in her stint with her most recent employer, the Frederick Keys. You name it and she has probably done it.

She started as an intern with the Keys, quickly working her way up the ladder to coordinator of group events. This role let her focus on various group outings and ticket sales. After two years in this position, she was promoted to Director of Ticket Operations where she led all ticketing aspects for the franchise over another two year span.

After each successful season and several successes with organizing and leading off-the-field entertainment such as concerts, Davis was promoted to Assistant General Manager for Ticketing and Operations. This new role expanded her responsibilities and added to her extensive baseball front office resume.

It all has led her to her first General Manager role.

"This year will be full of excitement and surprises. The Peanuts will be having a full promotional schedule and hopefully bring back-to-back championships to the city of Albany," said Davis.

"It is a great time to belong to the Peanuts family."

Season tickets are on sale now at affordable prices and great seats are still available. Call the front office today at 229-435-8900.

At all South Georgia Peanuts home games, fans will have 'One Shell of a Good Time'!
