The Jr. Blues Andy Cankar entered the 2004-05 NAHL season with very high expectations for himself and for his team. "I spent all summer preparing myself physically and mentally to be able to contribute to our team's success and to earn a chance to fulfill my goal of playing Division I college hockey," said Cankar.

Cankar (pictured above) has become a team leader, having been named an alternate captain, and an anchor for the Jr. Blues top offensive line and is well on his way of reaching his goal. In 22 games this season, Cankar has 17 points, with seven goals and 10 assists.

"Cankar has done every job and filled every role in his first two seasons with the Jr. Blues. Now he is getting a chance to play on one of our top lines and he is producing and providing needed veteran leadership," said Jr. Blues Coach Nick Pollos.

The Lockport, Illinois, native has not yet made his college commitment, but is receiving significant interest from some excellent college programs.

The Jr. Blues return home for three games against the Central Texas Marshals on December 3, 4, and 5. For more information please see the Jr. Blues official website.
