Jordan Adams Leads Energy over Drive

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Energy (11-12) won 111-95 over the Grand Rapids Drive (13-11) Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
Iowa was led by Jordan Adams with a game-high 25 points and 5 rebounds. Russ Smith added 24 points and 8 rebounds and Damien Wilkins added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Fields led the Grand Rapids Drive with 18 points and 5 rebounds.
The Energy started out hot, jumping out to an early first quarter lead. Jordan Adams led the charge with 12 first quarter points. Iowa held a 30-15 lead heading into the second quarter. Grand Rapids was able to fight back in the second quarter, outscoring the Energy 36-23 behind Manny Atkins' 11 points. Iowa took a two-point advantage into halftime, leading 53-51.
It was a close second half between the two teams before Iowa was able to pull away during the middle of the fourth quarter. The Energy held a two-point lead going into the fourth quarter, leading 76-74. Iowa went on a big run during the fourth quarter behind Adams and Smith to put away the Drive 111-95.
The Energy are back home at 4 p.m. Sunday for game two against the Grand Rapids Drive on College Savings Iowa Family Day.
