Jonas Junland Recalled By Blues

ST. LOUIS (November 30, 2009) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled defenseman Jonas Junland from the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Junland, 22, has played in 22 games this season with Peoria and leads the team with 18 points and 12 assists. His six goals rank third on the team. Junland is one of three defenseman in the AHL to lead his team in points this season.

The Linkoping, Sweden native was originally drafted by the Blues in the third round, 64th overall in the 2006 Entry Draft. He has appeared in one career NHL game with St. Louis, against Washington on Dec. 18, 2008, recording two penalty minutes.

The Rivermen are in Milwaukee on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before returning home on Friday to host the Manitoba Moose. Every fan in attendance will receive a coupon for a free Blizzard from Dairy Queen.
