Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will battle the Toronto Marlies (AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs) on Friday, December 4th at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. The 'Dogs will then make the trip up the QEW as the North Division rivals will resume hostilities on Saturday, December 5th at 4:00 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto.
Last week, Hamilton managed a 2-2-0-0 record with two home losses followed by two road wins. The Bulldogs suffered a 5-2 loss to the Rochester Americans (AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers) on Tuesday, November 24th in front of 2,715 fans at Copps Coliseum. One night later, the 'Dogs played host to the Houston Aeros and suffered a 1-0 loss. The losses marked the first occasion this season where the Bulldogs dropped two games in a row in regulation. Hamilton got back to their winning ways however on Friday, November 27th, as the 'Dogs cruised to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche) in the first of two contests against their divisional rivals in as many days. On Saturday, November 28th, the Bulldogs earned their second shutout with a 3-0 win over the Monsters. The victory was Hamilton's 500th regular season win.
DOG POUND ROCKS The Dog Pound will be rockin' on Friday, December 4th when the Hamilton Bulldogs welcome archrival the Toronto Marlies to Copps Coliseum. Former Canadian Idol finalist Rex Goudie as well as Canadian recording artist Suzie McNeil will perform during the intermissions. There will also be Guitar Hero and Karaoke booths set up in the concourse for fans to show off their rock skills. Fans will have the chance to win free CD's and tickets to upcoming shows and concerts throughout the game. Join the 'Dogs for a rockin' night of hockey!

BULLDOGS NOTES:
- The Bulldogs earned their 500th regular season victory in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Lake Erie Monsters.
- Hamilton C Brock Trotter had a four-point weekend as he registered two assists in the Bulldogs' 4-0 win over Lake Erie on Friday, November 27th, and scored a goal and one assist as the 'Dogs defeated the Monsters 3-0 on Saturday, November 28th. Trotter currently leads the Bulldogs in scoring with five goals and 14 assists for 19 points.
- Hamilton goaltender Cedrick Desjardins earned a shutout this past weekend, as the Bulldogs defeated Lake Erie 3-0 on Saturday, November 28th. Desjardins now ranks 4th in the AHL with a 1.80 GAA.
- Hamilton C David Desharnais had his seven-game point streak snapped after returning to the Bulldogs lineup from a one-game stint with the Montreal Canadiens on November 27th as the 'Dogs defeated Lake Erie 4-0. It did not take long for the centreman to get back on the score sheet however, as he found the back of the net and scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal as the Bulldogs shutout Lake Erie 3-0 on Saturday, November 28th. Desharnais now has five goals and six assists for 11 points in just nine games played this season.
- Bulldogs D Mathieu Carle had his second multi-point game since returning to the lineup after a stint with the Montreal Canadiens in early November. Carle picked up a goal and an assist in the Bulldogs' 4-0 win over Lake Erie on Friday, November 27th, and now has three goals and three assists for six points in his last five games.
- Bulldogs C Ryan Russell snapped a 7-game pointless drought by scoring a goal in Saturday's 3-0 win over Lake Erie.
- Hamilton RW J.T. Wyman was re-assigned to the Bulldogs after a three-game stay with the Montreal Canadiens.

ALUMNI WATCH:
There are over 40 former Bulldogs on 2009-2010 National Hockey League rosters. Over 60 percent of all former 'Dogs have played in at least one NHL game. Here are a few highlights and accomplishments of ex-'Dogs from this past week:
- Montreal G Carey Price made 33 saves and got the win as the Canadiens defeated Columbus 5-3 (Nov. 24)
- New York Rangers LW Chris Higgins picked up two assists and two shots on net while finishing +2 as the Blue Shirts looked better than the Blue Jackets, and beat Columbus 7-4 (Nov. 23)
- Montreal LW Andrei Kostitsyn registered one assist, had a +2 rating, and fired three shots on net as the Canadiens stung the Blue Jackets 5-3 (Nov. 24)
- Toronto D Francois Beauchemin had one assist, two shots, and a +2 rating as the Leafs stormed past the Lightning with a 4-3 win (Nov. 25)
- Montreal C Tomas Plekanec put up two assists and a shot on goal while finishing +1 in a 5-3 win over Columbus (Nov. 24)=A1=A6 Four nights later, Plekanec scored a goal and had three shots on net as the Canadiens were beaten 4-3 in a shootout by the high-powered Washington Capitals (Nov. 28)
- Nashville G Dan Ellis only let one of 24 Florida shots get past him, and earned a 4-1 victory over the Panthers (Nov. 28)
- Montreal LW Sergei Kostitsyn dished out an assist and was +2 in the Habs' 5-3 win over Columbus (Nov. 24), and put up another helper while finishing +1 as Sidney Crosby and the Penguins defeated the Canadiens 3-1 (Nov. 25)
- Boston RW Michael Ryder had a goal and four shots in regulation, and was the only player on either team to score in the shootout as the Bruins squeaked past Ottawa 4-3 in a shootout (Nov. 28)
- St. Louis G Ty Conklin made 34 saves in regulation and the overtime period, and stopped two of three attempts in the shootout as the Blues earned a 4-3 shootout victory over Dallas (Nov. 25)
- Columbus LW Raffi Torres picked up two assists, a shot on goal, and was +2 as the Rangers beat the Blue Jackets 7-4 (Nov. 23)=A1=A6 The former Brampton Battalion star then had one assist and four shots on goal as the Canadiens defeated Columbus 5-3 (Nov. 24)
- Montreal C Ryan White had one assist in a 5-3 win over Columbus (Nov. 24)
- Toronto C Mikhail Grabovski had a combined two assists, four shots on net, and +2 rating in wins over Tampa Bay (Nov. 25) and Florida (Nov. 27)
- Boston G Tim Thomas made 19 saves in regulation and overtime, and stopped all four shootout attempts he faced to lead the Bruins to a 4-3 shootout win over Ottawa (Nov. 28)
- Dallas C Mike Ribeiro had three points last week with an assist in a 2-0 win over Carolina (Nov. 23), a goal and five shots in a 5-2 loss to Phoenix, and another helper as the Stars beat Tampa Bay 4-3 in overtime (Nov. 28)
- Atlanta C Marty Reasoner scored one goal and registered two shots on net as the Thrashers defeated Carolina 6-4 (Nov. 27)
- Montreal D Marc-Andre Bergeron had a stellar 2-goal, 8-shot, and +2 performance as the Canadiens beat Columbus 5-3 (Nov. 24)=A1=A6 Four nights later, Bergeron had an assist and three shots on net as the Canadiens fell to Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals 4-3 in a shootout (Nov. 28)
- Edmonton C Shawn Horcoff scored one goal, one assist, fired a shot on net, and was +1 as the Oilers defeated Phoenix 4-0 (Nov. 23)
- Chicago G Cristobal Huet made 22 saves on 24 shots as the Blackhawks bit the Sharks and got a 7-2 victory against the NHL's first place team (Nov. 25)
- Montreal C Maxim Lapierre scored a goal, was +2, and had two shots on net in a 5-3 win over Columbus (Nov. 24)
- Detroit RW Dan Cleary collected one assist and a shot on goal as the Predators beat the Red Wings 3-1 (Nov. 23)
- Nashville D Francis Bouillon had an assist on the overtime winner and finished +1 as the Predators earned themselves a 4-3 OT win over Colorado (Nov. 25)
- Montreal LW Max Pacioretty had four points last week, with two assists in the Canadiens 5-3 win over Columbus (Nov. 24), one goal in a 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh (Nov. 25), and a helper in the Habs' 4-3 shootout loss to Washington (Nov. 28)
- Edmonton G Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers made 36 saves and got his first shutout of the season as the Oilers beat the Coyotes 4-0 (Nov. 23)
