Stockton Ports News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. -On Tuesday, the largest residential fire in Stockton's history torched dozens of homes in north Stockton between Interstate 5 and Quail Lakes Drive. The wind-aided grass fire, which displaced more than 30 families, is said to have caused untold millions of dollars worth of damage and resulted in the loss of homes and valuable possessions.
Through the next homestand, which ends on July 3, the Stockton Ports will be taking donations from fans who wish to help those who were displaced by the fire. After every ticket and merchandise purchase, fans will be asked if they'd like to make a donation to help the fire victims. When someone makes a donation, their name will be written on a slip of paper to be hung in the ballpark on the wall next to Ports Guest Services.
"As always, it's a privilege for us to assist the community any way we can, especially in a great time of need such as this," said Ports President Pat Filippone. "We hope we can help make a difference for the victims of this fire, and we're glad to be joining our fans in helping our neighbors get back on their feet."
For more information on how you can help the victims of the Quail Lakes fire, call the Ports front office at (209) 644-1900.
