Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
Gary, Ind. - On the back of Sioux City Explorers ace Patrick Johnson's second dandy start at the U.S. Steel Yard, the X's shook off last night's walk-off loss, handing the Gary SouthShore RailCats the series loss and their fifth loss in the last six games.
The RailCats (28-33) walked off on the Explorers (43-18) Saturday night, but couldn't carry the momentum into Sunday's get-away-day contest with Johnson on the hill.
Back on July 8 at the Steel Yard, Johnson shut out the 'Cats through seven six-hit innings while striking out eight. Sunday, Johnson again went seven innings, surrendering only one run on five hits en route to his second win in Gary and ninth win of the season.
RailCats starter Charle Rosario lost his second straight contest after throwing quality starts in his previous six outings before his start in Kansas City.
Rosario got into jams in the second, third and fourth innings, but was unable to work around the trouble in the sixth, surrendering three runs on three hits in the inning.
