Johner Gets Call To Omaha

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that center Dustin Johner has been recalled from the Las Vegas Wranglers, the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' ECHL affiliate.

Johner played in seven games with the Wranglers this season, scoring two goals and two assists for four points while earning eight penalty minutes. He played in two preseason games with the Knights, scoring one goal and one assist. Last season, the native of Sylvan Lake, Alberta joined the Lowell Lock Monsters (AHL) in March and finished the season with 23 games and 12 points (4-8-12). He began the season in Las Vegas where he had 22 goals and 26 assists for 48 points. The goal total was a team rookie record. The 2004-2005 season marked Johner's first full pro campaign. As a junior, he played 291 games for Seattle of the WHL where he had 120 goals and 152 assists for 272 points.

The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights are back home this afternoon to host the Toronto Marlies at 5:00 p.m. Fans are invited to bring their skates for a "Skate With The Team" immediately following the game. Children will also be required to wear helmets. In addition, the Knights will be giving away their official 2005-2006 team photo to everyone in attendance.

Tickets for all home games are on sale at the Civic Auditorium box office, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets may be purchased by calling 422-1212 or at Ticketmaster.com. The Knights' next home game will be Sunday, November 13th when they host the Toronto Marlies at 5:00 p.m.
